Accidents do happen. When it does, specifically involving high tech devices, I listed emergency fixes that may help.
Keyboard Spills (liquid) - Turn off and unplug the computer. Disconnect the keyboard and if it’s a non sticky liquid that spilled and it’s not a lot, just tip the board to drain. Dry by using a hairdryer to evaporate remaining moisture. Follow it up with a soft cloth. If you spilled a large amount of liquid and it’s sticky, you’re better off having the keyboard checked by a technician.
Wet Cell Phone – that little gadget accidentally dropped on a toilet bowl or a washing machine. When this happens, the gadget can be saved but it is important that you must act fast. Pull out the battery then use a hairdryer to dry the inside of the phone. A new battery may be needed, but you can check the old one if it works. If it doesn’t work, bring the phone to a service center ASAP.

In some cases a vacuum may work better than a hair dryer. A hair dryer will evaporate some moisture but may also push larger droplets or bits of moisture further into the electronics.
