I am a fan of nice looking, quality lampshades. In time though, the shade is going to accumulate dirt. Some people simply replace dirty shades. But if you’re like me, and you simply want to keep and hold on to it, what is the best way to clean that lampshade of course, without damaging it.
- A new make-up brush does the trick for me. My second choice is a microfiber cloth.
- If the shade is washable, I fill the bathtub with lukewarm water and a few drops of a mild liquid laundry detergent. I swish the shade around in the water and wipe soiled areas with clean white cloth from top to bottom. Follow up with a good rinsing under clean lukewarm water. I then blot dry with an absorbent towel. To dry it faster, I place the shade in front of an electric fan.

Great tips!
I like to use a lint roller on my lampshades too, a quick and easy way to lift the dust.
I’ve just recently started a tip blog too, I seem to have a tip addiction so I thought what a great place to try and keep them organized, I haven’t got very many added yet though LOL.
Keep up the great blog!
