Researchers at the Cornell University compared cocoa with other beverages that are high in health-boosting antioxidants, and found out that cocoa outscored red wine (with close to twice as many of the healthful compounds) and green and black teas (with two to five times as many antioxidants). Cocoa is low fat unlike many other chocolate treats. In fact, a cup has less than one gram of fat (standard size chocolate bar packs about 8 grams). Please note, that this study was brewed with skim milk.
It’s not often that a food we love turns out to be good for us. So go ahead and brew cocoa, just make sure you don’t add whole milk.
