Color Your World

During Spring and Summer, a lot of people are inspired to do makeovers in their homes. I am no exception to that, but for now, I’m not allowed to carry out any makeover in  our home, as we have pending “more important” things to accomplish. But, if I was to do a makeover right now, I will probably use colors to create a new look and color my world.

First of all, you have to get over your chromophobia. Most of us panic about picking the right colors. But nowadays, anything can be matched as home stores now have  paint matching services. Just bring the material that you want color matched, if it’s not feasible to bring with you, take a picture of the item. You can always bring home some color samples to see how each shade will work in a room.

Adorn details by painting a contrasting hue on any decorative elements like the crown moldings, baseboards, chair rails and wainscoting or maybe apply color to window sashes or frames which will help set off the view.  If you feel very creative, using different colors for the wall, baseboard and floor as long as the hues are related will really pump up the look.
