I Learned…

I was talking to my husband about their new system at work a couple of days ago. This system is supposed to be an upgrade to what they currently have but unfortunately they don’t think it is. He has been part of the committee when they were conceptualizing it a few months back, and this have taken a lot of his precious time. He goes to a lot of meetings, testings, conference calls and what not. It has definitely took a lot of his time away from his office and energy.

Lately, they have rolled out the system to a few, so they can test for efficiency. Those that are in this efficiency testing, were even issued new PC’s. Being that they handle time sensitive and enormous amount(in millions of dollars) of transactions, they can’t afford to not deliver. Imagine their angst, when the PC’s of those on the test started to slow down and get a lot of error messages. The group surmised that there can be registry problems. I heard that now they are looking into Registry Ware to remedy the problem.

I was not aware that such problem can exist to even the best system and new computers at that. The tech idiot that I am, I don’t really even know what windows registry is all about. So, this has given me the opportunity to know a little about it. You see, you learn even if you’re not expecting it. All you gotta do is listen and absorb the idea. It’s free, so nothing can be better than that.
