I can never have too many clocks in our house. In fact, through the years, because of this penchant to clocks, I have clocks in every room of the house and that is including the bathrooms. There is one type of clock that I do not own yet, and I know I will have it at the right time. That is none other than a grandfather clock. I have a couple of mantel clocks, a lot of wall clocks, and alarm clocks that double up the wall clocks in every room, so that is just about the one thing that is missing.
I have always been fascinated with grandfather clocks, because of their timeless elegance and beauty. There is this certain sophistication that grandfather clocks lend in a room, whichever type of room they may be in. The traditionalist in me, I’m drawn to traditional style grandfather clocks. In our next home, and I’m confident there will be a next one, I will make sure two grandfather clocks will live in my living room and family room respectively. I just hope I will be able to snag two beauties from 1-800-4clocks.com (“the house of clocks”) or a trek to their Grand Central Station store will even be better, as their location is just a train ride away.
Because of my penchant for decorating, there is not a day that passes without plotting and creating decorating thoughts on my head. It not only help me feed my obsession, it is always nice to have such outlet for creativity. This obsession on owning a grandfather clock will in time be realized, I’m quite sure about that.
