Allergy And Pets

I have to write about this. On one of my newspaper piles, you know I’m always delayed in reading newspapers, I read about the fact that pets could lower allergy risks. But, I’m not sure if this is so, also for adults. It stated that infants raised in homes with a dog can haveĀ  lower risk of developing allergies than infants raised without dogs in their homes. Further, if you have your infant with a cat at home, the result is the same thing.

Now, I wonder why my parents didn’t know about this. I’m sure I was not raised with a dog or a cat at home, and that is why I suffer from allergy year round. Zyrtec has been my constant companion. Sure, there are good and extremely bad allergy days, but not a day passes without a dose of Zyrtec.

  • ganun pala yun? kala ko when you have pets mas prone sa allergy lalo na sa asthma coz of the furs, mga nieces & nephews ko dati ayaw palapitin sa mga pusa.

ako sis kasi I have no allergies siguro lumaki akong kasama mga aso at pusa..haha!

  • I’m not sure about this because I grew up with dogs and cats in our home but I used to have real bad allergies from elementary till college. It’s only when I was here in the US that my allergies stopped and we don’t have cats and dogs in the house.

  • i didn’t know about this, sis. thanks a lot for the info. :)

  • Hmmm Interesting. We do have a dog in the house baby that will help Hunter.

I also heard recently that straight cows milk will help fight off lifetime allergies if drank as a child…

  • @ Toni

I also heard about that cow’s milk too. A lot of new findings, I wonder if they really work.
