Weekend Getaway In New Jersey

Being that we are just “home bound” every summer, as my husband loves to avail his vacation days in the Spring and early Fall, we make sure to find out and do interesting activities that are within driving distance that are good for a weekend getaway.

Having said that, a trek to New Jersey for the Wildwood events will definitely make for a great weekend soiree. First thing in order of course, will be for me to check out available Jersey Shore hotels as driving back within the same day is not feasible, granting that we’re on the road Friday night to avoid traffic. Besides, the Radio Disney Summer Concert Series finale is scheduled for 2 pm Saturday, July 26, 2008 at the Wildwoods Convention Center Oceanfront Arena. I would want to see Raven-Symone from the “That’s so Raven” Disney channel fame perform. While there, we would probably avail as well of the super savings at Morey’s Piers. Just by presenting the ticket for the July 26 concert at Guest Services, you get $10 off an all-day waterpark ticket or any of the two other options they offer, whichever one you prefer. Knowing us, the all day waterpark option will definitely be it.

It’s worth noting too, that the July 26 concert finale is not the only event being held in Wildwood. The free Radio Disney Summer Concert Series has been ongoing all through July. In fact, one event is over last July 7. There’s two more concerts that are going to be held on July 14 and 21. These are all held at the Radio Disney stage right by the Giant Ferris wheel on Morey’s Mariner’s Landing pier and show times are at 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. respectively. You might want to see Radio Disney’s famous musical artist perform for free. Nothing can be better than a free summer entertainment, right?

This is one great thing about living in the tri-state area. New Jersey is right on the bend, and as you very well know, there are so many great things to do in New Jersey thus, a New Jersey vacation at Morey’s Piers is always an awesome summer treat.
