They say that staying active is the best way to prevent osteoarthritis. That said, if you wake up in the morning with stiff joints, that could very well be the start of this condition. You have to understand that this can hit any gender at any age, and it is to be noted that it often affects women that are 45 years old and older. The stiffness can be felt in the knees, hips, neck, hands as well as the lower back.
Medication can help but managing once weight by losing those extra pounds can go a long way towards reducing stress on the joints. Further, hot and cold relief can also ease stiffness and pain. The most important and probably the best treatment is to keep moving. Physical activity helps to reduce pain and boost the flexibility of the joints.
Isn’t this another reason to get moving? Walking is not only good for my 8 pounds excess weight, but also in warding off osteoarthritis.

and may I add that moving is also good for cardio right? and may i remind my self again that I need to get to start moving also. walking will do just fine but I hate to wake up early in the morning to walk, can’t do it naman after office hours becoz I am too tired na by then. sigh
I always find excuses not to do it no? bad.
