I spent a lot of hours in my tiny garden earlier today. I didn’t realize how gardening can do wonders in getting my mind preoccupied. I have heard from people about the therapeutic effects of gardening but I only came to experience such today.
My container garden really did need a little TLC after I’ve been away for more than two weeks. It needed pruning and weeding. It was even more of a pleasure because the weather today was very pleasant, it didn’t feel like a typical summer day here in New York.
Gardening is indeed therapeutic. I just wish I have more land to till and the weather is perfect for year round gardening. These are the downsides to living in the region where we’re at, and living in a high rise near the beach. I can’t plant year round and my vegetable garden has been subjected to strong winds as evidently shown by the battered leaves. They are surviving somehow, in fact, even if it’s a tad too late for my eggplants to bear eggplants, (what else can it be) today I saw signs of the real thing. What a delight!
