That Wok

Posted on August 30th, 2008 | by User ImageJuliana |

Wok… Yes, you know what a wok is. If you love Chinese food, you must know more or less the food is cooked in a wok. Do I own a wok at home? I sure do. Do you?

Experts say that the best woks are made of cast iron or heavy-gauge carbon steel. Reason being, these materials can take the heat of stir frying. I wished I knew about this before, because I don’t own a wok that is made of the two mentioned materials. I own an All-Clad Wok which I believe is made of 18/10 stainless, aluminum and magnetic stainless, not unless the inside has carbon steel.  Further, it is important to have a flat bottomed wok with a depth of 4 inches. As far as cleaning is concerned, following the manufacturer’s seasoning instructions is a tall order.
