Yes, this is one thing I have to be vigilant with every single work day. Since my husband wears a tie to work, every evening when he comes home, I make sure to check the tie he wore for the day. As you know, ties are not easy to clean, more so those silk ones.
From years of dealing with this, I have learned that the best way to tackle it is to deal with the stain right away. The longer the stain sits, the harder it will be to take it off or remove. I would dab the area with a cloth napkin and a few drops of cool water. Then I bring the necktie at once to the dry cleaner. Of course, you’ll have to identify the spot for proper treatment. Be warned though, that there is a chance that professionals may not still get the perfect result, as dyes that are used on silk ties are not colorfast. If only I can find a cleaner that can treat the stained area perfectly, just like being made aware of the best acne treatment available, that would for sure make my domestic life easier.
