As priorly mentioned on my previous article, here are pictures of Hotel Europa & Regina. For info, this is also a Westin property just like the Excelsior where we stayed at in Rome. It is not as grand as Excelsior, but it definitely has the same trumpe l’oiel of the Renaissance look as indicated by the intricately inlaid marble designs with baroque geometry on the floor and walls.
The hotel is composed of a series of antique buildings as you can see above, interconnected via narrow alleyways, overhead bridges and canalside hideaways.
This is the main entrance that is accessible via a concealed, flagstone covered courtyard
We stayed on one of the rooms here. The balconies are very small, just enough to take a peek into the Grand Canal
See how small the balcony is? My husband couldn’t get a decent shot showing the balcony with me on it. But just the same, the room is very comfortable with the heavenly bed and sheets (that’s Westin’s trademark, by the way).
