We always thought that genes are the only thing to blame for that thinning hair. But did you know that there are other reasons? And I beleive it, because when I was still in the corporate world, a lot of my colleagues at Procter & Gamble had thinning hairs and receding hairlines.
Let me start by saying that stress can really trigger a massive shed . I’m not only talking about work related stress, but also stress induced by surgery and childbirth. Apart from that, there are also nutritional imbalances to check out such as eating disorders and strictly vegetarian diet or diet that is low in protein. Insufficient iron intake as well as too much doses of vitamin A can also trigger loss. In connection with this, take medications also into consideration, because there are prescribed medications that can induce shedding such as arthritis medicines, Accutane, some cholesterol lowering drugs as well as certain cancer treatments. Thyroid disorders can also cause balding. Last but not the least, the female hormone estrogen. Once this drops which normally occurs during peri-menopause and menopause significant thinning of the hair will ensue.
Now, don’t just blame grandpa and grandma for that early hair loss.
