With only a few days to go before the Holidays, is your wallet ready for the challenge? It is indeed challenging to stick to a budget when buying gifts. But, keep in mind that you can do some steps to save yourself from an over abundance of good will and of course, holiday debt. With discipline, you’ll soon find it so hard to justify spending spree in the name of generosity.
From experience, making a list of what I plan to buy and the amount I want to spend before shopping is key. Of course, that is after I do some brainstorming to make sure that what I’m planning to get is appropriate for the recipient. It also pays to get some ideas from friends and relatives who are known to be frugal shoppers. They normally know where to get the best deals and bargains. Apart form these, know that last minute shopping can be costly. Shopping early is good so that you have more options to choose from that fit your budget. Last but not the least, pay in cash and leave that credit card behind. This will ensure you will not spend over your budget.
