Decorating A Small Home

Posted on November 13th, 2008 | by Juliana |

When decorating a not too big a home, there are limitations with space. As much as possible, creating an illusion of a bigger space in each of the room is important. How do you create such?

Try to maximize the space by planning storage needs. Built-ins as well as pocket doors that run up to the ceiling are practical solutions. Note that small houses require big closets, so that clutter can be controlled and the space don’t get filled up with stuff.

It is also important to keep everything simple. If you overdo in anyway, that little house will even feel smaller. Painting the rooms white, will definitely expand the space and it makes the cramped space feel a little bigger. Likewise, if you repeat the use of colors indoors and out, it will create a feeling of harmony. Lastly, big windows bring the outdoors in. Of course, they make it feel like the cramped space is larger too.
