In time for Thanksgiving, here’s a rapid response for when you are confronted with gravy spills on your tablecloth. Try to spoon as much of the gravy as you can. Then sprinkle the spot with artificial sweetener or flour or cornstarch whichever you prefer. Soak the tablecloth later on in a solution of a teaspoon of colorless and mild detergent to each cup of lukewarm water.
Should the stain be stubborn, and it lingers, a full strength liquid laundry detergent poured onto the tablecloth followed by vigorous rubbing can do the trick. Of course for the last step, you have to launder it as usual.
