Red Wine And Or Soda Spills

How do you treat your tablecloth when red wine or soda is spilled? The immediate action would be to grab salt or artificial sweetener and pour either on the spot affected so that the liquid is absorbed. Later on, rubbing the fabric under cold water will help dissolve the stain. At the hottest water setting that is safe for the fabric, soak the tablecloth for 30 minutes then launder as usual.

If the tablecloth is made of 100% cotton, or cotton blend you can sponge the affected area with 100% strength white vinegar within 24 hours, and launder or dry clean whichever care method is recommended in the care label.
