Party Prep

With holiday parties in the horizon, each of us has our own way of preparing, more so if you are the host of the party. Many would prepare as far ahead as one month before, by setting the food budget. If you’re hiring a caterer, the preparation is not that comprehensive. Ensuring that there is plenty of space is very important specially if it’s a sit down dinner.

Personally, when I host parties (something that I really don’t do much), I plan way ahead in advance. I tend to serve home cooked foods thus, the recipe that I use are more often than not tried and tested by me weeks in advance so that I am assured that the dishes pass my palate.

As far as preparing the home is concerned, I love to decorate with candles, so I make sure I have them strategically located. An hour before the guests arrive, I normally simmer a pan of water with fresh orange peels and cinnamon sticks to give the house a fresh and wonderful aroma. Holiday music on the ready is sure to set the mood.

The pan of water with orange peels and cinnamon sticks sounds like a good idea. We don’t host parties (mahirap pumunta dito sa bahay namin - Divisoria), but I could do that, just for us. :)

Weekend is almost here Tuks…yay! What’s in your agenda? Kami wala pa. But I’m planning to buy some warmer clothing kasi I was in my night robe the whole week. I didn’t expect it to this cold this early.

Anyway, enjoy your evening and your weekend.
