As we are getting closer to the cold, dreary days of winter (yes, it’s been wintry already, although it is not officially winter yet) I vow to always have a vase filled with fresh flowers twice a week. It ‘s therapeutic for me, being around lovely blooms more so in the winter.
Having said that, whenever I buy a bunch of fresh flowers from our nearby florist, I always try to create a nice looking arrangement. It’s sort of hit or miss, as it’s always been a challenge for me. You know, I’m no Martha Stewart. I know that sticking with simple and monochromatic arrangements is a good start. I always apply the technique whereby, I just pick one type of flower and then trim the stems so that I can create a short, tight bouquet and keep filling my vase until it won’t hold another stem. As they say, when it comes to flower arrangements, it’s anything goes as long as it’s beautiful.
Thus, for this whole winter season, instead of thinking about hying off to the slopes and be concerned with snowmobile parts I’ll be cooped up in the comfort of our own home waiting for the right time to jet off again to somewhere exotic and warm.
