Fiber that is. Indeed a lot of experts are indicating that a diet rich in fiber can be a fabulous fat fighter. The thing is, switching to a high-fiber diet is comparable to taking the route of the magic weight loss pill.
How does fiber affect ones body?
- It’s filling, as it swells a bit when ingested thus, it quells hunger.
- It ejects fat. The fiber in fruits and vegetables can expel out fat before the body absorbs them.
- It decreases blood sugar.
- Fiber is low in calorie. In fact, pure fiber has virtually no calorie at all. They can’t be broken down thus, they go directly to the digestive system.
So, what are high fiber foods? Legumes, brans, fruits, vegetables, pasta and starchy foods made from whole grains, cereals and breads.

This is good news! I like those Fiber one bars. They come in all kinds of good flavors too!

I’ve been trying to “up” the amount of fiber I have every day and I’m actually kind of surprised at how much I like high-fiber foods (like beans). Eating high-fiber definitely helps one feel more full.
@ Karen
that’s great Karen. They taste good too.

I also recently only started to love eating beans. Like you, I was surprised. Another new found love of mine: oatmeal. Not the instant one as most of them are very sweet. I make mine from those oven toasted old fashioned variety and sweeten it with a little bit of honey and cinnamon.
