Have you tried cross country skiing? I haven’t, and I don’t even know if I will. Friends who have tried it though, swear by the fact that it is a great exercise. You can burn hundreds of calories and help raise the heart rate. In short, it is a super aerobic workout aside from the fact that it’s really fun. As long as one is reasonably fit and there is no existing medical issues, cross country skiing is age proof, it is good for children and seniors alike.
They say, it is even a no-brainer type of activity. Falling is always a given but once one gets the motion you become more confident. One can climb, trek to wherever, and descend, be it in the nearby golf course or out in the wilderness. Most of all, as my friends say: it is one outdoor activity that is priced right, as a good long lasting equipment can be had at less than $300.
Have I convinced you enough to try out cross country skiing? I hope so. I wish I can convince myself to try out, but because I’m not confident I’m strong enough to meet the demands, I’ll just be contented with being a spectator. Which reminds me, I should search for softball trophies for donation to the nearby high school just in time for the season.
