Do you love popcorn? I sure do! Did you know that popcorn is not only a “fun food.” It is also a good whole grain snack that is loaded with nutrition more than you ever think. In fact, a regular movie night portion, which is approximately three cups, count as one of the recommended three servings a day of whole grains.
But what about the kind that is loaded with butter? The one that everyone of us definitely adore. Bad news… because popcorn that is slathered with butter cancels out the goods with the bad. Apart from that, when selecting a brand of popcorn, make sure to steer clear of those that are rich in artery clogging trans fat and those that comes loaded with salt.
Now this got me thinking, when was my last movie night out in a theater with my husband? That was eons ago. I should try to get him to go and catch the latest movie playing at the theater nearby this weekend. But from the looks of it, he has been tied up helping his friend on his search for car lifts for a shop he is about to put up. In the meantime, that popcorn will have to be popped from the microwave in my kitchen and not the movie house.
