How many times should anyone have to be apprehended by law enforcement before loved ones show how much they care? I’m referring about a family friend, who this time, has to be in jail for a night because he was apprehended( for the second time) while driving under the influence of alcohol. In fact, this is not his first brush in with the law. He had been arraigned once also for DUI and had to spend a fortune on legal fees to escape jail time. As luck would have it, though, it seem that this time, there is no escaping incarceration. He was chased by the cops until he reached his residence and was really dead drunk that he can barely stand up straight. He was released from jail, but his vehicle was impounded and now his license is revoked. He is awaiting his arraignment by first week of May.
Very often, families and loved ones of people in need of alcohol and drug rehab are in denial, only to wake up to the rude realization that they need to act and help their loved ones. Facing this reality is the best course of action. Then and only then, can you move forward and really extend help to them. It’s very rare that the addicted individual volunteer to take that first step to seek treatment, hence, it is imperative that someone has to take that big first step for them towards their treatment and recovery.
