Proven Home Remedies (Part 2)

I have a few more remedies to share with you, and I figured I better write them down before my memory fails me. I don’t know why, but lately I have observed some memory lapses. Ah… charge that on getting old. If only I have the power to buy memory for my own use, so I can recharge the shrinking cells, that would be great.

Anyway, here goes the last part of the remedies:

  • If you have dry skin, you can alleviate the condition by making a milk bath. Fill the tub with lukewarm water and add a packet of dry powdered milk. Make sure that the water is not too hot, because this will dry the skin further.
  • You got sore throat? Not a problem. Take a piece of ginger root and boil  it in four cups of water  and add a couple of cinnamon sticks. Boil for 20 minutes. Take the ginger and cinnamon sticks out of the mixture and add honey to taste. Sip slowly.
  • For menstrual cramps, try saturating a flannel cloth with castor oil and place it on your abdomen. You should cover it with plastic wrap and towel as well as a heating pad on top. Relax.
  • If sleep does not come easy, placing lavender oil on your pillow should do the trick. Experts find lavender to be calming and it smells good too.
