Do you know of any other cleaning agent that can be used to clean silverware aside from silver polish?
I was shocked to hear from a friend that indeed you can use toothpaste to remove tarnishes from your silver pieces. Yes, your good old toothpaste is good but here is a caveat: toothpaste is definitely more abrasive than the regular silver polish. Thus, a pinch of toothpaste should be dispensed in a small area. Likewise, please note that the toothpaste should be free of tartar control ingredients as well as whiteners.
It is advised that the silver piece should be moistened, and then using your finger, the toothpaste is rubbed and rinsed thoroughly with warm water. Dry silver with a soft, clean cloth.
