Towels That Shrink — 14 Comments

  1. It’s good to know that they figured out the chemicals effect the absorbency. I have known this for a while and wondered why they didn’t just make them bigger. I haven’t bought new towels in a while, but I will be soon and this will be nice to know as I want some really big towels.

  2. The problem I have with towels is that they don’t soak up the water period. They are so thick and soft that they seem to rub the water over your body instead of off the body. I’ve even gone to buying really cheap towels for this reason.

just don’t use too much fabric softener on your load of towels as it also affects the absorbency.

do you use a lot of fabric softener? I’m aware that using too much can affect absorbency too.

not sure about clothes, but maybe. we’re aware that there’s considerable shrinkage every washing more so if the clothes are 100% dried on a dryer.
