Do you love lighting up votive candles? I do once in a while. However, once the candle is used up, I always used to find myself struggling to get the melted wax out of the bottom of the holder.
With this tip, taking out that leftover is a lot easier. For a few minutes, soak the holders in a vessel filled with hot water. Another way to do it is to put the holder facedown on a very sturdy paper plate perched on a cookie sheet in a 200 degree F oven. Keep your eyes on it as you have to stop the process as soon as the wax softens. Ensure that you don a mitt when picking up the holder. Then wipe the holders clean with paper towel.
To prevent melted wax from sticking, the next time you light up a votive candle, you can pour a bit of water in the bottom of the holder. Then, you won’t have to ever worry about taking out melted wax again.
