My husband loves to frequent online sites that are replete of various vehicle parts including truck accessories. Not that he builds and repairs vehicles, but just like any men out there, he is interested with anything about vehicles. But that is not where he spend many hours of his free time, though. Once he is at his favorite site for Sports Cards, his eyes are glued, that it is hard to get his attention. He is an avid Sports Cards Collector. A passion that started way back in his teenage years.
He trades, he sells and he buys – Sports Cards, that is. Of the three activities that I mentioned, it’s the last one that I’m most afraid of because his taste for Sports Cards has gotten more and more expensive through the years, and it can make a big dent on his pocket. For info, Sports Cards can be expensive. The mint and graded ones by Beckett, PSA and SGC are most coveted.
To say that he has an impressive collection, is an understatement. He does not only have tons of graded and mint pieces, he also have sealed sets. In fact, his collection occupies one of our closets in the house. When I just moved in after we got married, it was such a shock to me, more so because I really had no idea about the value of Sports Cards. Through the years, I have learned a little bit and I now appreciate his hobby.
Simply put, as compared to my handbag collection, mine devalues through time; but his Sports Cards just like any good investment, the value appreciates when sold at the right time. I should know. He sold a few mint and graded pieces the past few years, and I was shocked.
