In every building or any public area for that matter, have you ever asked yourself why they all have that illuminated exit sign? They all seem to be similar, right?
Well, aside from the fact that they are there because it is a building safety requirement, they are affixed inside a building for a good reason. They are meant to guide everyone for easy egress during normal circumstances as well as in times of dire emergency situations.
For most of us, those Energy Star exit signs that we see all over are just like that – signs. For me, I seem to sometimes think of them as more than signs, reminding me that I always have the option to exit from any muddled situation. Let’s face it, the universe that we are living in has gotten a lot more complicated. And no matter how hard we try most of the time to wade through those murky waters, we still have battles that are not worth sticking out for. It is during those times when we opt to just try the easier and more sensible route, and that is to take the nearest exit available.
Forgive me for being metaphorical for now. It’s just that I went through several EXIT SIGNS today, and I just can’t help it. I have a share of this every once in a while, and I guess it happens to you too.
No, I’m not in the brink of exiting from this awesome and blessed life. I have more reasons to keep going for it rather than exit. When you feel so blessed and you can’t seem to ask for more, that is the last thing on your mind. In fact, I’m overwhelmed with the feeling of being grateful, much so, that sharing has been on the top of my priority. I want to be mindful of not only of the exit signs around me, but also of the blessings that are meant to be shared.
