In between scouring online for the latest Bluetooth headset, I stumbled upon a site that tackles natural alternatives to lowering blood pressure. As many of you are aware, I have been taking maintenance dose to regulate my blood pressure for years. Although, I have been primarily dependent on pills to get my BP at a normal level, I have not really implemented a lifestyle change.
I eat what I please, I exercise when I want. And this has been ongoing since I was 21 years old. I have been seeing my Doctor every four months, and it’s been great. Except for the constant reminder of my Doctor to maintain my weight (it is very unstable) by implementing an exercise regimen, everything seem to be alright and he finds my overall health – good.
Upon reading the article I realized that I can still say goodbye to my maintenance dose, if I’m willing to do a 360 degree turnaround and take on a drastic lifestyle change. That would entail that I follow a strict healthy eating plan and exercise regularly. Three hours of workout a week is all it takes, plus a low fat and limited sodium intake in my diet. Adding fruits and vegetables and dairy products is a must too. Alcohol is a non-issue to me as I can only manage a glass of wine which is not even on a regular basis. This plan, when implemented continuously for one year and a half can help in achieving a normal blood pressure without pills.
I know, it’s not an easy plan but it’s good to know that it’s possible. But that is only if… I’m willing.
