Twenty Things That Mean A Lot
By J, on October 14th, 2009
- No wait at the Doctor’s office.
- Saying “Thank you” and “Please” when it’s called for.
- Paying back borrowed money —fast.
- Calling your mom or your MIL just to say hello.
- Saying “bless you” when a stranger sneezes.
- Passing along a book you love and treasure.
- Sending a birthday card.
- A firm handshake.
- Finding unexpected cash in your jeans or when doing the laundry ( so much like saving tons on insurance premiums). Thanks to the help of online insurance marketing.
- Handwritten thank-you letters.
- Cell phones turned off at the movies.
- Surprise notes tucked in your spouse’s lunch boxes and suitcases.
- Giving sincere compliments.
- A small token/gift for your host/hostess.
- Fresh towels in every guest bathroom.
- Wet napkins when serving barbecue.
- Great sense of humor especially during bad situation.
- Letting the man or the woman with just two items go ahead of you while at the store’s checkout line.
- Bouquet of fresh flowers – - – for no reason.
- Volunteering to help without being asked.
These are all so great. Nothing is better than a list of positive and inspiring thoughts.
Well maybe unexpected flowers
Thanks so much for sharing ~

What a wonderful list. And each one of those meaningful things is so special and can totally turn someone’s day around. Just thinking about compliments and a good firm handshake, and especially being let ahead of someone at the checkout, makes me feel good. Thanks.
I like this list. I had a full cart of groceries today and all the lines were long so I offered to let the lady behind me with only 8 items go ahead of me but she wouldn’t. Guess she had no place to go in any rush. I tried to be nice. It took me 20 minutes to get through the line and checked out.

@ Karen
That was so nice of you to offer. If only there were more people like you. It was such a nice gesture.
Thanks for stopping by.
