Sun Brewed Iced Tea

Have you come across the recipe of Sun-brewed Iced Tea? I stumbled uponĀ  it from a magazine years ago, and I clipped that recipe and neatly filed it on my recipe bank. I found it to be kind of weird as the recipe requires that the pitcher be left under the sun to steep for two to four hours. I haven’t tried making it, but for sure I can imagine it to look beautiful, having that big clear pitcher right near one of those rare copper kitchen sinks.

Ice,Tea

Recipe:

Place 2 quarts of water in a large pitcher and add 6 large mint sprigs(crushed), 1/4 cup of sugar and 6 to 7 tea bags. Cover the pitcher and let it stand in the sun for 2 to 4 hours. Remove the tea bags and serve over ice. You can garnish it with additional mint sprigs. This can be refrigerated for up to 3 days.
