I Felt Robbed But I’m Excited

I assumed that my annual visit to my Gyno was going to be my last visit to the Doctor this year. Although, I was mulling with the idea of going to the Dermatologist, I initially thought it was not that important to have some dark spots checked. As I’m doing my own countdown of the year that is about to end, I just can’t get my mind off these tiny dark spots that I have recently noticed on my legs.

With much hesitation, I picked up the phone and booked my appointment to see my Dermatologist, and yesterday, I took the trek this time, not for acne treatment consultation as it used to be in the past, but for suspicious moles a.k.a. dark spots. I want to have peace of mind and knowing what they really are  will ensure that I enjoy the holiday and welcome the new year joyfully.

Okay, so I got the word. They are nothing but sun damage! Sunscreen , and  more sunscreen is the operative word. And I got a prescription too for the face for that much needed skin renewal. It turned out that having that facial and  microdermabrasion a couple of weeks ago was a great move. Perfect timing, so to speak.

No matter how I felt robbed having to shell out $125 for that precious gel in a tube ( yes, my insurance did not cover the cost of the Rx), I’m excited with the idea of experimenting with the help of my Dermatologist; something that I haven’t done in so many years.  And, I’m going back to see my Derma in a week. Who would have thought I’ll be embarking on this ‘project’ this late in the year.
