Wallpaper treatment that is.
Is there an easy way to remove wallpaper borders without ruining the wall?
Basing from experience, yes, there are several ways. In fact, you don’t need to use complicated equipments such as clamps (btw, I think you use clamps to do the exact opposite: that is to secure object tightly. LOL).
The first option is to start by spraying the lower edge of the border using warm water. Let it soak then use a plastic scraper so that you can pry the paper from the wall. Should you find that this way is not doing the trick, try a clothes steamer. Start off by steaming one small section at a time until you see that the adhesive loosens. It may require repetitions. You can then strip the paper off.
Remember to always work from the bottom up. Don’t forget to wipe any residue with a sponge dipped in warm water. It’s possible that your border won’t budge. In that case, dampen the border with a bit of white or cider vinegar (acetic acid acts as solvent on the glue) or you can use a commercial wallpaper remover. They normally contain special enzymes that can dissolve the paste.
