Clementines are my current addiction. They are in season right now, so why not? At least, I’m not addicted to something else that may even require drug rehab if I got really hooked. No drug education nor drug intervention required.
Why do I love clementines? Because they are sweet, aromatic and they are typically seedless, although, there are some varieties with seeds. Not even the seeds deter me from eating them. To me, they are the perfect citrus for snacks. They are easy to peel, and with their high levels of vitamin C and fiber, they are really a smart choice. They can even be chopped and added to jarred salsa served over grilled chicken, or toss into a green salad.
How do you pick clementines? Get those that are fragrant, shiny and heavy for their size. When stored in the fridge, they will last up to two weeks.

My daughter was studying abroad in Italy this last semester and fell in love with Clementines while she was there….along with Italian plums and a myriad of other fresh fruits and vegetables!

@ Anna
yummy but pricey. it seem like everything is expensive in Italy. at least that was my observation for the 3 1/2 weeks of visit in different Italian regions that we went to in 2008.
@ Tuks
I just got a box of them again today. I’m really addicted.
TGIF….and it’s so gloomy outside. Looks like we’re going to have rain and lots of it starting this afternoon until tomorrow ata.
