A feather duster looks fancy and is fun to use, but when we are dealing with formidable scuzz, that feather duster may not be the best choice. A classic sweep will only move particles around. They need to be picked up.
Capturing dust with a soft cloth dampened with a multi-purpose spray, water or furniture polish whichever is appropriate for the surface is the best way to go.
If you are doing a ceiling-to-floor cleaning, the most efficient way to attack the task is to use a vacuum with multiple attachments. For baseboards and mini blinds use an old sock (dampened with water ) on each hand or foot and rub along the dirty edges. For those hard to reach spots and sticky surfaces, a mop or a brush is the perfect tool.
