As soon as we were settled in our hotel room and freshened up, my husband and I were more than eager to explore Nice. I did not pre-book a rental car, as we don’t like driving while on vacation (a chauffered car is much more preferred if a vehicle is required; otherwise, exploring our destination on foot is best for us). Besides, roadside assistance is the last thing that we want to secure should there be any mishaps on the road.
Fifteen minutes of walking was all it took for us to find the Nice Ville train station. I was in awe at the facade that I immediately wished that all train stations had the same architecture.
As a total stranger, I was busy checking out the surroundings when I heard a group of boys running and laughing loud. A dog was following them. An unleashed, angry dog at that!!!!
I froze as the dog came near me and circled the area where I was standing. I’ve never been as scared in my life, that I started to tremble. My husband was about six feet away from me as he was busy with the video cam and watched helplessly because he’s aware about the fact that my fondness with dogs is almost nil (with exception to cute little canines). I was wearing a skirt, and all I could think of was : if the dog came after me, I had no other protection; my legs were right there ready for the taking (lol). Good thing, the dog circled me twice but later left and followed the path of the boys.
Needless to say, I lost my enthusiasm. All I wanted to do was go back to the hotel, but my husband talked me out of it. This was day one of our vacation. You can imagine how cautious I was as we toured around the following day.
