The Temple Bar area is Dublin, Ireland’s trendiest neighborhood, with cafes, theaters, shops, galleries, restaurants and of course pubs. It is a great spot of live traditional music. Three hundred years ago though, this was the city waterfront where tall sailing ships offloaded their goods. It is undeniably the heart of the city.
We were in the area on a late afternoon. I regret the fact that we didn’t get to go back again to see the absolute spectacle in the evening on the cobbled streets. The human circus at night they say, is such a sight.
When we came across this sight, I couldn’t help but ask myself if a car rental was really needed. It sure is not like some areas elsewhere where driving is a tall order. I wondered if these bikes are rental bikes. Granting that they are though, I think they would have been of no use for me because I don’t know how to ride a bike.
