Our trek to Northern Ireland almost did not push through. With the unsettled weather a few days prior to our planned trip, I was hesitant to go.
Monitoring the weather forecast did not help either. Thus, a day before the scheduled trip, we trooped to a bank to exchange a few hundred Euros to Pounds. This will ensure that we have spending money should we decide to go the following day.
We woke up to a clear day so off we went, only to find out that after the two hour high speed train ride, a damp and wet Northern Ireland was waiting. It didn’t stop us from our planned itinerary; we were already there. Just take a look at this pic:
I so wanted to get off the black cab but it was pouring outside. The homes near Falls Road were well tended, I wondered if they are equipped with security lighting. Since their neighborhood is no doubt a tourist attraction, I think that such kind of device is imperative. Personally, I don’t think I’d be comfortable living in a famous tourist attraction. People come and go, and I’d be so concerned of our security and privacy.
From what I heard though, the people living in the community are living securely and peacefully. I guess, they just got used to it. Their “normal” is not my “normal.” Is that what it is?
