Today, I’m feeling Christmas. I think that I sorely miss home. Home is the Philippines, my country of birth. At this time of the year, especially in the suburbs of Manila ( I lived in Makati for twenty seven years) I can now imagine the change of landscape. It’s now November, and it is not far fetch to see a Christmas garland here and there. Whether in the commercial and business districts as well as private residences, the mood is now becoming festive courtesy of the colorful decors and lights.
I wish to spend another Christmas at “home” soon. However, it is not that easy to fly halfway around the globe when you have a husband whose schedule is predictable yet hectic. As you might have noticed, vacations for us happen almost always in the Spring and the Fall. When the weather here in the North East becomes wintry, it’s a “no fly zone” for my very predictable husband unless it is for emergency.
Someday soon, I will be “home” for Christmas. I’m sure about that.
