The year is coming to an end, and I’m very excited to welcome the new year. Are you? Year 2010 was great despite the rough ride that we went through, as most of us still had to deal with some losses due to the current economic gloom. But isn’t it awesome that we are still hanging in there and enjoying this ride?
For most travel junkies like me and my husband, a breather in the form of a vacation is always welcome. “Staycation” may have been the norm to many this year, but not us. As soon as Spring was over this year, I couldn’t wait for us to head to the French Riviera and two months later, that awesome trip to Ireland.
As the year comes to an end, I’m now plotting for next year’s destination. Stumbling upon a travel blog online a few days ago, sparked my travel planning and search for our next travel escapade. Upon searching the blog’s archive, I couldn’t believe the wealth of information that is available and definitely very useful for travel enthusiasts. The online portal is very easy to navigate, and it’s “clean.” I liked the fact that it is not loaded with tons of ads which sometimes gets in the way of ones travel planning task. Oh, and the movie tourism articles are also interesting. I have bookmarked this travel blog for my easy reference when I finally sit down and finalize our 2011 travel itinerary.
To date, I’ve only been to 17 (seventeen) countries and although there are tons of countries that are waiting to be explored, I pick our destinations carefully. We have some limitations, and my husband and I will only consider a destination if we are fully aware that we will enjoy our stay. That brings me to the truth that we will never go on a cruise because my husband will never consider it, as well as backpacking.
As early as now, it is exciting to imagine basking in the waters of French Polynesia. Yes, I got this travel idea from my new found travel blog, and I’m crossing my fingers that in a few months from now, I’ll be writing about that trip, and finally laying my eyes on that endless strand of Tahitian pearl that I have been dreaming of for a long time.
