I gave up! With the very unsettled and snowy weather that we have been experiencing for more than a month now, the Tucson Gem Show which I really wanted to attend, is shelved.
I haven’t been to trade show exhibits in years. The gem show would have been the first in a very, very long time. For now, I will have to just imagine the unique and colorful table top display that would have been aplenty in Tucson. While they aim to help create more interest and depth to a trade display, on a setting where gems are the star of the show, I can just imagine the impact of both on a single set-up. Add to that, customized table covers replete with company logo, plus those silk screened directors chairs and you have a sure winner. Yes, if you are thinking that you only get to see one on a film set, think again. Nowadays, directors chairs are now permanent fixtures on trade shows because of its strong presence when silk screened bearing the company’s logo.
Having been in Marketing for years, whenever I attend trade exhibits, I pay particular attention to all the merchandising materials that vendors peruse. That is just the marketing person in me. In fact, even when I go to retail stores, the merchandise on the floor is not the only thing that gets my focus. Perhaps, it’s just me missing my former life… sometimes.
