John Galliano, the famous designer at the helm of Christian Dior, has been on the news lately.
In light of his anti-Semitic rant while on a Paris bar, Saks Fifth Avenue is now considering taking down his designs off the racks in the tony department store. Saks flagship store manager (New York) was quoted:
“His designs could disappear from the store and we have values like I hope everyone else has. What happened was not right and we would not want to carry his merchandise in honor of our customers and my employees that work in the store.”
Galliano’s Dior creations however, would remain in the store. Only the John Galliano Men’s Collection are being pulled out.
That seems to be the best route as Saks Fifth Avenue will definitely create anymosity with LVMH ( Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton – owner of Dior fashion house) if his designs under Dior collections are totally pulled out.
