I’m currently looking into the eco-friendly Soda Stream Fizz Sparkling Water Maker that Williams-Sonoma debuted recently. It’s supposed to make perfect sparkling water, homemade sodas and cocktails. I have yet to make a decision whether to purchase it or not, but this early I’m leaning towards buying one for us as this will definitely put a stop to the big monthly expense associated with our bottled water of choice : Fiji.
At $150 per unit (soda maker), and the cost of CO2 cylinders and refillable bottles, the cost of acquisition is definitely cheaper than Fiji bottled water on a going basis.
Here’s the full description: (from Williams-Sonoma)
Do away with the waste of plastic bottles while enjoying sparkling water, homemade cocktails and sodas carbonated to whatever “fizziness” you prefer with this eco-friendly water carbonator. Operation is easy and requires no electrical power.
Fizz Chip™ allows you to control your fizz level and monitor the amount of carbonation left using the LCD panel of your sodastream.
Simply fill the carbonating bottle with tap water and give a few pumps to carbonating lever to operate.
The number of pumps determines the amount of carbonation for total customization.
A single CO2 cylinder makes up to 60 liters (15.8 gal.) of sparkling water.
Includes soda maker, 60-liter CO2 cylinder and 1 carbonating bottle.
